Hushmail billing and how it works

By Steph Milne, Customer Success and Billing Specialist

At Hushmail, we are always striving to provide our customers a seamless experience. We aim to support your daily work, not simply sell a service. That’s why we don’t require a contract or commitment when you create an account with Hushmail. It’s important to us that your Hushmail experience enhances, and never hinders, your life. This applies to how we manage our billing as well.

In a previous post, our Customer Care Manager outlined Hushmail’s personal approach toward supporting our customers. Today’s post explains our approach to billing and our refund policy. We make every effort to make our billing simple and efficient, but if you find you have questions about your billing, don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer care team.

Hushmail’s refund policy

We understand that your needs may change. Therefore, we offer a 60-day money back guarantee in case you decide to cancel your service. If you surpass the 60-day period, you can still cancel your account at any time without extra fees or charges.

How Hushmail does billing

We have two different ways of billing depending on the type of account.

  • Premium: Premium accounts are billed for the year. However, there is no contract and you are able to cancel at any time. The annual renewals are automatic, and if an account is not renewed, it will be automatically deactivated after the billing date. Accepted payment methods include major credit cards, PayPal, and money orders.
  • Business: Business accounts are billed monthly, although if you choose to pay annually, you receive a month of free service. This option also gives you the added assurance that your account will remain active for the year. Accepted payment methods include major credit cards. If you choose to pay annually, PayPal and money orders are acceptable as well. As with all Hushmail accounts, you can cancel at any time without a penalty. Cancellations before the 15th of the month avoid the next month’s charge. We also give you the option of quarterly or semiannual renewals.

An added cushion just in case

The last thing you need is an unexpected break in your email because your credit card has expired. That’s why all accounts are billed one week before the renewal date to provide a cushion in case there are any issues.

Check your billing details
